Northern Europe's first 27-hole course
An extraordinary experience
During the 19th century, the sandy heath between Kämpinge village and the Borough of Skanör-Falsterbo was planted with pine and oak. Citizens of Malmö and Trelleborg soon found Ljunghusen to be a perfect place to spend their summers. Simultaneously the game of golf came to Sweden and some of the summer guests used the beach meadows for simple golf play during the 20's.
In 1932 our club was founded and the first six holes were completed. Only a few years later the course was expanded to 9 holes. Due to the growing interest in the game during the 1950s, 9 more holes were added, and only a few years later the first 27-hole layout in northern Europe was built, with three equally good 9 hole loops, with different features and located in a nature reserve.
